Hi Bengt,
It looks like a pulse time of 5us is specified. The maximum pulse time for KFLOP is 3.78us (the default is 1.9us). So that will be a problem.
Sometimes the specification for a low going pulse is shorter than the high, so inverting the pulse can work. You didn't send any specification on the drives.

Hi Tom,
Hmmm, that is someting I have forgotten to check earlier. I will upload 2 docs with info regarding these drives. As it is set now it is 13us for step and 5us for direction. There is opto isolation in a circuit before the drives made by someone who installed the old computer (ABC80) to these lathes.
Cheers
Bengt

Hi Bengt,
It looks like one will work and one won't.
The first on page 18 indicates a minimum of 3us pulse and 1.5us direction setup time before the falling edge of step. KFlop sets the direction 0.25us before the Step Pulse. So if KFLOP is set to output a positive going 3.8us Pulse all conditions should be met.
The second requires a min of 5us pulse and 5us interval so it will not work (page 9).

Hi Tom,
If my memory serves me right I do believe that the drives are of the D550 type and therefore they will not work with Kflop. That is why I had so much huzzle getting these to work years ago. I will have to go back to Pport as it has been working OK but now that I have another PC maybe I will have some issues with the new one.
Or.....
As these 5-phase things are so old and expensive to replace it might be better to replace the system with modern motors/drives.
At least now I have one spare setup of Kflop/Kanalog to my milling machine :)
Cheers
Bengt
